The first series of DFU events was a great success.  The panel debates really tackled the issues and the students that attended asked tough questions relevant to all consumers of technology.  Digital Freedom University is up and running!  Thanks to everyone who participated.  Check out the photos from the inaugural DFU events.

The Digital Freedom Campaign views the students as an important cutting-edge audience and consumer base that must be engaged—not threatened.

Our ‘Digital Freedom University’ initiative expands the ability of student leaders and campus-based artists and innovators to make their voice heard in Washington, D.C., as the rights to create, acquire, and use content in the digital age are debated.

Digital Freedom University chapters provide a base for students to organize themselves, raise awareness about "fair use" rights in the digital age, and hold events and seminars to discuss the opportunities, and the challenges, that innovations in digital technologies create.

Digital technologies allow everyone the freedom to be artists, innovators, producers and creators, and to listen, watch, and participate wherever, whenever and however they choose. That freedom must be protected and nurtured.
